Independent Research and Analytics for Sustainable Finance

We can conduct research, data analysis and report writing to support your sustainability strategy, inform investment decisions, and guide policy or reporting frameworks.

What We Do:

SeaWolf’s research and analytics work sits at the intersection of sustainability, finance, and regulation.

We help organisations — from think tanks to banks — explore emerging challenges, design new reporting frameworks, and make evidence-based decisions.

Whether you need support interpreting regulation, conducting peer benchmarking, developing a sustainability strategy, or shaping the future of sustainable finance, we bring deep subject-matter expertise and a clear understanding of both the policy and financial context.

We Support You With:

  • Independent research on climate-related finance topics (e.g. carbon pricing, biodiversity, transition planning)

  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis for reports, regulatory submissions, and investor communications

  • Peer benchmarking and landscape scans (e.g. for CSRD, ISSB, SFDR-aligned disclosures)

  • Design and evaluation of new frameworks or standards (e.g. Universal Carbon Principles)

  • Macroeconomic research that bridges sustainability and financial policy

  • Thought leadership contributions and white-labelled content support

Who is this for?

We work with:

  • Think tanks, NGOs and academic institutions

  • Sustainability leaders inside corporates or financial institutions

  • Policy organisations shaping the future of sustainable finance

  • Financial institutions needing external analysis for internal planning or public reporting

A Case Study: Clean Energy Banking

A global NGO used Seawolf’s research to guide banks toward cleaner, more commercially viable lending strategies.

Here were the results:

  • Mapped the current green finance offerings of 10 major banks across five continents

  • Identified barriers to clean energy lending from both demand and supply sides

  • Provided banks and policymakers with tangible product design ideas and delivery improvements

  • Informed future conversations between NGOs, financial institutions, and regulators on scaling green lending

  • Created a public, practitioner-ready resource for shaping clean energy product development

Here’s what we did:

SeaWolf partnered with a sustainability-focused NGO to explore what financial products banks are currently offering to support the clean energy transition — and where the gaps lie.

We conducted primary research across 10 major banks globally, analyzing product structures, eligibility criteria, delivery methods, and pricing strategies. Our team combined desk-based research with interviews to assess how banks are currently serving residential and SME energy-efficiency needs.

The report didn’t stop at diagnostics. It offered practical recommendations for designing better lending products, improving customer journeys, and navigating regulatory bottlenecks. The final output is being used to inform both internal innovation teams at banks and broader discussions between finance and civil society.

Why Seawolf?

We’ve led sustainability at global banks and helped shape climate strategy at the highest levels.
